Life Groups meet on Sundays at 9:45 am.

  • Nursery (Birth - Age 3; meets on main level of sanctuary building)

  • Children (K5 - 5th Grade; meets in Avenue Kids area on lower level of sanctuary building)

  • Youth (Grades 6-12; meets on upper level of sanctuary building)

  • Young Adults (Age 18-25; meets off campus)

  • Stephen Tyler Class (Co-Ed; meets on lower level of sanctuary building)

Our Ministries

 

Worship and Arts Ministry

Our worship team is focused on leading God-honoring, Biblical Worship every week in a blended style of music featuring both modern songs and hymns. Our worship arts teams include: Worship Choir, Handbell Choir, Amazing Grace Singers: Senior Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, Youth Ensemble and Drama Team. Avenue Littles

Avenue Littles is our nursery. Beginning from birth to 3 years old.

Your “littles” will enjoy two unique experiences. One during Life Groups at 9:45 am and another during worship at 11:00 am.

Our Littles Ministry desires to help children grow up to be like Jesus, as outlined in Luke 2:52.

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

With that desire, we believe the church should be a place where littles: mature in their faith, form meaningful connections with friends and leaders, serve others, and have fun in a safe environment.

Avenue Kids

4 year olds through 5th grade

Avenue Kids have Life Groups on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am and hold events throughout the year. Some of those events are: Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School, Summer Club, and Mission Events.

*During our 11:00 worship, children 4K-1st grade are dismissed during the service for Children’s Church.

 

Avenue Youth

6th Grade - 12th Grade

Avenue Youth meet for Life Group on Sunday mornings and meet on Sunday nights for worship, Bible study and games. Our Avenue Youth also hold special events throughout the year like: summer camp, lock-ins, Discipleship weekends, drive-in movies, bonfires, and much more.

Avenue Seniors

Our Senior adults have a once a month activity consisting of but not limited to: lunches, late afternoon dinners, cook-outs, and day trips such as Flat Rock Playhouse and the Tryon Equestrian Center. In the fall, they enjoy trips to the mountains, and the occasional overnight trips.

 

Safe Environment

Our Security Team ensures that each person at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church is safe and secure. We have a security team patrolling the exterior and interior of the building during all activities. In addition, all workers with our Avenue Littles, Avenue Kids and Avenue Youth have all gone through background checks and received Safe Sanctuary Training.
